Stay Home: A State of California and County of Santa Clara shelter-in-place order is in effect. All individuals must shelter at home (except for essential services) to protect those in our community who are most vulnerable. Even if you feel healthy and show no symptoms, you could be spreading the virus by leaving your home and interacting with others. Stay home!
If you think you have been exposed to COVID‑19 and develop a fever and symptoms, such as cough or difficulty breathing, call your healthcare provider for medical advice.
Press Conference Today Online: The County of Santa Clara is hosting a press conference today at noon via its Facebook page to discuss the modifications to the 2020 Census efforts during COVID-19 ‘shelter in place’. Residents can complete the census online in English and 12 other languages at my2020census.gov or via telephone at 844-330-2020 (English); 844-468-2020 (Spanish); 844-461-2020 (Vietnamese).
Updates on City of San José Services and/or Operations
- Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC): TSA has informed Airport Management that a fifth TSA employee at SJC has tested positive for COVID-19. This TSA employee last worked at the Airport on the evening of March 11 at the Terminal A passenger screening checkpoint. For the latest updates from TSA, visit www.tsa.gov/coronavirus. Additionally, an Airport city employee has tested positive. This individual last worked at the Airport on March 12, and may have had limited contact with airport tenants. SJC Airport remains open for essential travel. However, airlines have begun reducing service. Travelers are encouraged to check the airline’s website for flight status and schedule updates or call the airline within 72 hours of their scheduled flight.

On-Site Building Inspections: On-site building inspections, which are limited to Housing Construction projects pursuant to the Santa Clara County Public Health Order, are suspended through Wednesday, March 25. This brief suspension further protects the health of inspectors and the public as we take time to adjust inspection practices. Inspections of single-family home projects may continue through videoconferencing. Learn more about remote permits and inspections at www.sanjoseca.gov/permitcenter.
