San José City Hall boasts a modern design featuring light-filled spaces with sweeping expanses of metal, stone and glass which provides a contemporary backdrop to the grand outdoor adjoining plazas. Visitor's eyes are often drawn to the free-standing 10-story glass rotunda.

“Waterscape” is a stone and water feature designed by artists Anna Valentina Murch and Douglas Holliss. The feature was inspired by the natural geological conditions historic to San Jose and is displayed at the entrance to City Hall on the East and West Plazas. 

The outdoor locations are perfect backdrop for filming, photoshoots, festivals, and displays.

Outdoor event spaces include the Plazas and sidewalks from 4th Street to 6th Street to the southern property line. To view more information about each venue, select the desired plaza from the menu to the left.
