RENT STABILIZATION PROGRAM MEDIATION

The Apartment Rent Ordinance (ARO) enables tenants who live in rent stabilized units to file petitions for mediation to the Rent Stabilization Program. (San Jose Municipal Code Chapter 17.23.010)

These petitions may be based on:

• Invalid rent increases (17.23.310)
• Health and safety concerns
• Service reductions.

Petitions may be submitted in English, Spanish, or Vietnamese.
