Eviction Help Center

Eviction Help Center staff are located at San José City Hall on the 12th floor, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. City Hall is located at 200 E. Santa Clara Street in San JoséParking is available on 4th Street at San Fernando. The first 90 minutes of parking are free.

If you are unable to pay rent, contact the Homelessness Prevention System at preventhomelessness.org or 408-926-8885.

If you receive an eviction notice, court papers or other legal documents similar to these:

The document shown above is an example of an eviction (unlawful detainer) lawsuit. If you receive this type of document, you must act fast! Tenants must file responses in court within five business days. If a response to the lawsuit is not filed within five business days, a tenant may be evicted.
