Community Development Block Grant
Annually, the City of San José receives funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to administer the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. This program funds various nonprofit agencies and other city departments to implement services that benefit low- and moderate-income persons, resolve slum and blight concerns, or address community development needs.
Grantees are generally selected through a competitive process and provide such services as senior daycare and respite, homeless outreach, housing rehabilitation, and code enforcement.
