2023 Homeless Census - Executive Summary

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires every jurisdiction receiving federal funding to conduct a homeless census and survey (known as a Point-in-Time Count) every two years. These counts measure the prevalence of homelessness in each community and collect information on individuals and families residing in temporary shelters and places not meant for human habitation. The results of these counts help the federal government better understand the nature and extent of homelessness nationwide.
