    The Neighborhoods Conference brings together City of San José representatives, neighborhood association leaders, and other agencies to collaborate on community building, share resources, and foster connections. Residents and community leaders are invited to attend and learn more about how to access City services designed to make our neighborhoods safer and cleaner.

    Spanish and Vietnamese interpreters will be present. Other accommodations and multi-language interpretation are available upon request; providing at least 7 days notice will help ensure availability.     Panel: Responding to Homelessness and Blight In response to the growing challenges of homelessness, the city of San José has pioneered many efforts to address them. This workshop will provide a general overview of the City’s approach to this nation-wide problem.

This interactive workshop will guide neighborhood associations on how to effectively use social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Nextdoor, and X (formerly Twitter) to amplify their outreach efforts. Participants will learn strategies for creating engaging content, promoting events, reaching new members, and building an online presence that reflects the unique spirit of their neighborhood.     BeautifySJ Grant Tips and Tricks
    Grants are an essential part of any neighborhood association and can greatly enhance their events, meetings and efforts. Learn some useful tips on writing your proposals straight from City of San José Analysts!
    Neighborhood Learning Circle
    This is an interactive session in which people from different neighborhoods can share what has worked best for their associations. This is a popular session in which you can get to know your neighbors as well as possibly incorporate each other’s best practices. 
    Benefits and Risks of Digital Technologies: Artificial Intelligence
    Learn how to protect your privacy and personal information in the evolving world of new technologies. The City of San José’s Privacy Team will share best practices as well as how to navigate new artificial intelligence technologies safely.
    Building Your Neighborhood Watch Program
    Neighborhood Watch programs are essential in fostering safer, more connected communities. Learn how to collaborate with local law enforcement, organize watch groups, report suspicious activities, and engage your community in crime prevention efforts. Whether you’re starting a new watch group or revitalizing an existing one, this presentation will provide valuable insights to keep your neighborhood safe and united.

    Parking information

    Parking will be available at the parking garage across the street from City Hall (located at 50 N 4th St.) and the parking garage across the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Library (located at 88 S 4th St.). Validation for both parking garages will be available for conference attendees.
