Proposal: Initiation of the City Landmark District designation process for the Schiele Subdivision and Alameda Park, File No. HLD24-001

Meeting Purpose:  To follow up on the May 30, 2024 in-person community meeting to discuss the nomination by the San José City Council to designate the Schiele Subdivision and Alameda Park neighborhood as a City Landmark District. This meeting will recap the procedure and timeline for the historic district designation process and provide the opportunity for additional questions and comments from the public. Meeting comments will become part of the public record to help inform the Historic Landmarks Commission and Planning Commission, which will provide recommendations on the proposed historic district designation to the San José City Council. Additional opportunities for public comment beyond this community meeting will be available throughout the process as illustrated in the “Steps in the Historic District Designation” chart. Below is the QR Code that will take you to the project website for more information on the proposal.

If you have questions regarding the proposal or this community meeting, please contact Dana Peak Edwards, Historic Preservation Officer at dana.peak@sanjoseca.gov.
