Duties & Relationships
The Director of Planning, Building and Code Enforcement (Director) is the initial decision-making body for most types of development permits and includes minor and administrative permits.
The Director serves as the Secretary to both the Planning Commission and Historic Landmarks Commission. Most, but not all, Director decisions can be appealed to the Planning Commission and/or City Council.
MEeting Materials
Agendas are published prior to the public hearings. You may contact the Planning Division at (408) 535-3555 the week of a public hearing to verify that an item will be heard and is not scheduled for deferral to a later date.
