Description
The Neighborhood and Business Association Map allows City Departments, members of the public, and other entities to conduct outreach and engagement with neighborhood associations and business associations who are organized around specific geographic areas of the City. The map also allows members of the public to understand which groups are present in their neighborhood and how to get in contact.
This map includes the contact information and approximate geographic areas of interest for several types of neighborhood groups and associations, including neighborhood associations, business associations, homeowners associations, and youth and senior councils. Data for this map was provided by City Council District Staff and the included neighborhood groups and associations. For further information about this map or to request updates, please contact GeneralPlanStaff@sanjoseca.gov.
How to use
There are two primary ways to use the Neighborhood and Business Associations Map:
1. To get Association contact information and other details for a specific property, click directly on the property. You can use the address search bar at the top-left of the map to find the property.
Note: If multiple Associations represent the same property, an arrow will appear in the top left of the pop-up window (circled in the red box below). Click this arrow to scroll through the overlapping Associations.
2. Use the selection tool to get Association details for multiple properties at the same time.
a. Click the ‘Select’ tool below the address search bar (circled in the red box below)
b. Outline the area of interest (circled in the red box below); double click when complete to close the selection box. The total number of selected Associations will appear in the Select menu (circled in the purple box below).
Selecting multiple areas of interest:
Hold down the Shift key after selecting an initial area of interest to include additional areas of interest in your selection.
c. Once you have selected all desired areas, click the ellipses in the ‘Select’ menu (the three horizontal dots circled in the red box below) and select ‘Export to CSV file.’ The downloaded CSV file will include the names and contact information for all Associations in the areas you have selected.
