Effective July 1, 2023, The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will temporarily suspend processing applications for Letters of Map Revision based on Fill (LOMR-Fs) and Conditional Letters of Map Revision based on Fill (CLOMR-Fs) in City of San Jose. Applications received prior to July 1, 2023 will be processed and completed if all necessary information has been provided.  Please note that this temporary suspension does not affect the City's floodplain regulations. Projects located in Special Flood Hazard Areas will continue to be reviewed under the City's standard development process and must adhere to current elevation/floodproofing requirements. Flood Hazard Zones

The City of San José is a member of the National Flood Insurance Program. Membership in the program allows residents of the City of San José to obtain federally backed mortgages and disaster assistance in the event of floods. In exchange, the City requires new land developments and remodels of existing buildings to conform to rules that minimize flood damage.
