SERVICE ACTION

New Public Works Permits/Applications related to a Planning Entitlement

Submit electronically to the PW Project Engineer (PE).  Use SJPermits and the Planning permit number to determine the PE assigned to the project.  Once you have determined your PE start your application process as you normally would before SJePlans by submitting the appropriate application and any supporting documents.   The PE or staff member will initiate the SJePlans project for you to begin the plans and/or document uploads.

New Public Works Permits/Applications NOT related to a Planning Entitlement (incl. standalone Geologic Hazard Clearance, Revocable Encroachment Permit, etc.)

Submit electronically to PWGeneralInfo@sanjoseca.gov.  A PE will be assigned to your project and will contact you directly.  The PE or staff member will initiate the SJePlans project for you to begin the plan and/or document uploads.  Visit our website (see link above) for additional ePlan resources,  permit applications and requirements.

Re-submittal of Public Works Plans

Submit the responses to comments and the revised plans or documents electronically through SJePlans.

Traffic Workscope/Report

Submit electronically to manjit.banwait@sanjoseca.gov and renzel.balance@sanjoseca.gov

Inter-agency Permits/Applications

Submit electronically to khoder.baydoun@sanjoseca.gov.  For large files (>25MB), please provide an FTP website link for downloading.  (Dropbox links are not acceptable by the City.)

Utility Permits/Applications

Submit electronically to PWUtilityPermits@sanjoseca.gov

Small Cell Permits/Applications

Public Works Fee Payment and Security Deposits

Pay online (https://sjpermits.org/permits/online-permits.html) with credit card or see attached for wire transfer instructions.  Fees of $100,000 or more must be a wire transfer and include the permit number.  Please also email the PE the date of wire transfer and confirmation number given by your bank.

Submit Security Deposits electronically to the maximum extent possible.  If not, please submit via mail to the PE.

Flood Inspections

Flood inspections will continue with modified service in alignment with the City and County guidance.  For questions about flood inspections, please contact vivian.tom@sanjoseca.gov.
