Meeting Purpose: To describe the proposed project, the environmental review process, and the planning process, and to obtain community input on the project, including issues to be discussed in the Supplement Environmental Impact Report (SEIR) to the Downtown Strategy 2040 EIR. Public input on the scope of the SEIR is encouraged so that the review addresses all relevant environmental issues. The Notice of Preparation (NOP) for the SEIR will be available for review online beginning on August 25, 2020 in the EIR Library of the City of San Jose’s Planning Division web site: www.sanjoseca.gov/ActiveEIRs. Comments, concerns, and questions raised at this meeting will become part of the public record and will help inform the project’s design as it moves forward in the review process. There are continued opportunities throughout the permit process to publicly comment on the project as illustrated in the permit process chart below.
Proposed project: Special Use Permit (SP20-021) to allow the demolition of two existing multi-family residential buildings and one single-family home and the construction of a new multi-family residential building (21 stories above grade) with a total of 222 residential dwelling units, and a four-level automated parking system, including one basement level, with associated landscaping and amenities.
