Meeting Purpose:  To describe the proposed project, the environmental review and planning process, and obtain community input on the project and issues to be discussed in the Environmental Impact Report (EIR). Public input on the scope of the EIR is encouraged so that the review addresses all relevant environmental issues. The Notice of Preparation (NOP) for the EIR is available for review online in the EIR Library of the City of San Jose’s Planning Division web site:  www.sanjoseca.gov/ActiveEIRs. Comments, concerns, and questions raised at this meeting will become part of the public record and will help inform the project’s design as it moves forward in the review process. There are continued opportunities throughout the permit process to publicly comment on the project as illustrated in the permit process chart below.

Proposed project: General Plan Amendment to change the land use designation from Combined Industrial/Commercial (CIC) to Heavy Industrial (HI) and a General Plan Text Amendment to the Communications Hill Specific Plan, a Planned Development Zoning to rezone from Industrial Park/Industrial Park Planned Development Zoning District (IP/IP(PD)) to Heavy Industrial Planned Development Zoning District (HI(PD)), and a Planned Development Permit to expand, modernize and streamline the existing concrete and asphalt recycling, manufacturing and distribution facility on an approximately 22.18-gross acre site.
