Meeting Purpose: To describe the applicant’s proposed project, the City’s review process, and to obtain community input on the project located at 1921-1927 W. San Carlos Street and 30-58 Cleveland Avenue. Comments, concerns, and questions raised at this meeting will become part of the public record and will help inform the project’s design as it moves forward in the review process. There are continued opportunities throughout the permit process to publicly comment on the project as illustrated in the permit process chart on page 4 of the Agenda.
Project Description: Annexation and pre-zoning of five parcels currently located in the County of Santa Clara into the City of San José; General Plan Amendment to change the land use designation from Mixed Use Commercial to Urban Village; Site Development Permit to allow the demolition of approximately 12,500 square feet of commercial structures, and the construction of a mixed-use development consisting of 94 one hundred percent affordable rental units, excluding one manager unit, and approximately 2,500 square feet of ground-floor commercial space; and a Tentative Map to combine five parcels to create a 0.56-acre site.
