Reports and Memos

On June 28, 2016, Housing Department staff presented an Update on the Pilot Sanctioned Encampment Program to the San José City Council. At this meeting, the City Council directed staff to work with all ten (10) Council Districts to identify one site per district where a BHC might be located. This direction also included working with community groups, neighborhood leaders, and other members of the community to review the proposed program, consider the viability of specific sites, and identify key operational issues, such as security, site aesthetics, and onsite services, which may be important to neighborhoods where the sites would be located.

The reports below provide an overview of the staff updates and Council direction provided to date.
