The City of San José prioritizes an inclusive and barrier-free environment so that people with disabilities have equitable access to City services, programs, and facilities.

City Council adopted the Disability Inclusion Equity Pledge on June 13, 2023, and formalized the City's commitment to disability inclusion as a human right and matter of equity. The pledge is available for review in: EnglishEspañolTiếng Việt中文, and American Sign Language.

This webpage has been designed to provide centralized and up-to-date information related to City services and programs, as well as additional resources that may be helpful regarding disability access and equity. Accommodations

  • The City is committed to providing accommodations for all of its programs, services and activities to ensure participation and effective communication for individuals with disabilities.
  • Accommodations or access needs can be requested by directly contacting the department that is coordinating or organizing the meeting, event or activity.  If you are unable to find contact information for the event coordinator, contact the ADA Coordinator at ada@sanjoseca.gov.
  • Copies of documents are available upon request in alternative formats, including Braille, large print, or language translations.
  • With at least one week’s notice, American Sign Language and oral interpretation services can be provided for City-hosted activities.
  • These services are available at no cost to community members.
