San José for All Advisory group
Created in 2023, the San José for All Advisory Group (SJ4All) provides valuable feedback and recommendations to improve City processes, practices, and services that elevate racial equity and focus on the lived experiences of the historically most impacted communities.
Our current SJ4All Advisory Group consists of twelve community members with extremely diverse lived experiences spanning from ages 17 to 65.

Mission and Values
Mission:
SJ4All is responsible for engaging City departments, leaders, and staff so that there is accountability and focuses its service and strategies on San José’s most impacted communities. We do this by centering racial equity, diversity, inclusion, and the intersectionality of all marginalized identities.
Value Statements:
SJ4All recognizes the commitment of all people who have participated in all aspects of its development and implementation. SJ4All hopes to embody the following values:
- Meaningful, positive change that is long lasting and creates a measurable impact and improvement for San Jose communities that have been most impacted by systemic racism.
- In partnership with the City organization, act with accountability, integrity, and honesty, and follow through on our responsibility for the decisions and outcomes of this work.
- Communicate openly, honestly, and clearly with fellow stakeholders in both the processes and decision-making so that SJ4All’s feedback is amplified and weighted with consideration.
- Inclusivity by balancing civility, empathy, compassion, and acting in service by uplifting the most impacted communities and not one’s personal agenda. We achieve this by centering the most impacted community voices, experience, and knowledge.
SJ4All Meeting Frequency
Meetings are held every other month for 2 hours.
SJ4All Meeting Format
To ensure that all SJ4All members have maximum flexibility, the group has determined that a hybrid meeting format is the most accessible for the Advisory Group members.
