Meeting Purpose: To describe the proposed project, the environmental and the planning processes, and to obtain community input on the scope of the Supplement Environmental Impact Report (SEIR) to the Downtown Strategy 2040 EIR. Public input on the scope of the SEIR is encouraged so that the review addresses all relevant environmental issues. The Notice of Preparation (NOP) for the SEIR will be circulated for public review and comment from August 24, 2021 to September 23, 2021 and will also be available on the City of San Jose’s Planning Division’s Environmental Review web site: www.sanjoseca.gov/ActiveEIRs. Comments, concerns, and questions raised at this meeting will become part of the public record and will help inform the project’s design and scope of the SEIR as it moves forward in the review process. There are continued opportunities throughout the permit process to publicly comment on the project as illustrated in the permit process chart below.
