Site Development Permit to allow the demolition a 5,283 square foot restaurant building, a two-story storage structure, and a 55-space parking lot. The existing on-site restaurant building located at 409 S. 2nd Street is eligible to be listed as a San Jose City Landmark. The project proposes to redevelop the site with 30-story mixed use building with up to 540 residential units and approximately 5,491 square feet of ground floor retail space. The maximum height of the building would be approximately 293 feet to the rooftop. Parking for the residential units would be provided in a four-level, below-grade parking garage containing 175 parking stalls and 176 bicycle parking spaces. As proposed, construction would take place six days a week, Monday through Saturday, (7:00 am to 10:00 PM) for approximately 33 months.

PUBLIC NOTICE OF STRUCTURE AVAILABLE FOR RELOCATION

The structure located at 409 S. Second Street, San Jose, is hereby noticed as being available for removal or relocation as of Thursday, December 1st, 2022. The expense of removal or relocation shall be the responsibility of the person or organization relocating the structure. If interested, please contact:

Public Hearing

The Project is scheduled for the October 26th Planning Commission Hearing. The hearing will be held virtually over Zoom and more information can be found on the Planning Commission Agenda webpage. Final approval will occur at City Council, tentatively scheduled for November 29th.
