Community Forest Advisory Committee

Committee Information

The Community Forest Advisory Committee (CFAC) guides the implementation of the Community Forest Management Plan (CFMP). The committee comprises City staff and external stakeholders.

Purpose

The CFMP workplan will advance the City’s progress towards a sustainable urban forest. Additionally, the CFMP seeks to preservice, enhance, and grow San José’s community forest in a way that benefits all communities equitably. The CFAC will follow the CFMP workplan.

Key functions of the CFAC include:

  • Make recommendations regarding the annual workplan priorities
  • Review key City policies to help protect, enhance, and grow the community forest
  • Identify and secure the resources needed for a successful urban forestry program
  • Help promote public education and outreach

Meetings, Schedule, and Documents

Meetings occur every two to three months. Meetings take place online, using Zoom, but may move to in-person format as pandemic best practices are updated.
